This photo best depicts how I see myself. There is a beautiful garden with a place to sit and take in its loveliness but alas, I feel just  out of reach, close but not close enough to reach it. I'm a single mom of an adult daughter, educated, gainfully employed and have family and friends that love and care for me. Strangely, this has not detracted from the feeling of always being on the outside looking in. For much of my life I've felt left out as if I didn't belong, to my family, friend groups and even church.  It wasn't until I participated in a short-term missions trip and met a woman who said she felt the same until realizing that as a Christ follower, we were never meant to fit into this world. That's when everything suddenly made sense. I was not designed to fit snugly into the social strata of this life but was made to shatter the strongholds and lies we carry in our lives, including my own, and show and tell the love of Christ.

Sisters, we are modern women and unique each in our own way, in every way and we'd like you to show it. DistINKtive Stories is an online storytelling site that allows you the opportunity to share your unique relationship with Christ. There may be joy, pain, loneliness or even doubt. No matter where you’re from, background or life experiences, you have a story. That story is distinctive...noticeably different from all others. Your story is different from people who have had the same or similar experience because your story includes You and there is no one else in this world quite like you. No one else who thinks or feels exactly the way you do in exactly the same way you do. So, let's hear it.
